Motherless
Daughters Day Luncheon/Dinner
A
workshop/meal inviting adult women to commemorate their mothers’
lives with other daughters who have walked a similar path. Women
speak their mother’s name, tell stories, and find comfort in
shared experiences. If you have known the joy of having a mother and
now suffer the pain and grief of mother loss this is for you.
Happening the day before Mother's Day, find out more about this
event by clicking here.
Note:
Motherless
Daughters is a phrase used by Hope Edelman in her research and book
by the same name.
Flowers for Mom
A
special ceremony for kids (grades K-12) to
come together, remember their mothers, and honor their memory.
Activities include: creating a gift for mom, speaking her
name, lighting a candle, and the giving of flowers.
We invite mothers who have lost their children to
participate by speaking a blessing over the participants. Love, Laughter
and Light are integral parts of this program. Elementary
school children need to be accompanied by an adult.
Walkway with Dad
An
event designed especially for children (grades K-12) who have lost their
dads. We display our dad’s favorite
sports team/activity and honor his memory.
We create a gift, share a
snack, & remember the strength of dad’s embrace. Fathers who have lost a child share “a daddy’s love” with those
present. Elementary school
children need to be accompanied by an adult.
